Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Annette holds a degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Cork Institute of Technology and is an Accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (M13676).
Annette’s training as a psychotherapist involved working with a wide range of theoretical concepts including Attachment Theory, Gestalt, Person-Centred Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing and Trauma as well as Mindfulness and elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Annette has also completed courses in Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Suicide Awareness, as well as Art Therapy and Treating Low Self-Esteem.
She is an accredited practitioner with the Foundation for Infant Loss (UK) having completed training on Pregnancy & Infant Loss and Assisting Clients with Subsequent Pregnancies After Loss.
In her work with clients, Annette adheres to IACP guidelines on ethics and data protection.
Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Annette believes that our past experience can shape our current way of being in the world and believes that by creating a solid therapeutic relationship, clients can safely explore their issues and begin to make sense of their story.
Underpinning her work is the belief in the capacity of each individual to access the inner resources and personal agency to affect positive change in their life. Annette’s approach is integrative and client-centred which enables her to work collaboratively with the client at their pace.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Annette works with individuals aged 18 years and upwards.
Over the course of her training, Annette worked and continues to work, with individuals dealing with issues such as low self-esteem, trauma, abuse, stress, anxiety, depression, and grief.
Prior to her training in psychotherapy, Annette spent many years working in the corporate sector and has a solid understanding of issues related to work-related stress and work/life balance.
Annette’s Fee is €70 per session
