Existentialism suggests that we have to try to cope with fears on several levels. These fears are based on how we relate to the physical world, the social world, our internal psychological world and also a spiritual dimension. These issues can present in terms of a feeling of dull dissatisfaction with our current circumstances. A feeling that life is passing us by or that we are not making the most of our opportunities will cause us to reflect and consider beginning a course of psychotherapy. This can be a very rewarding journey as we learn to embrace life (and our inevitable, eventual death) and strive towards greater feelings of happiness.
