Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Ciara is an integrative therapist with particular focus on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) encourages understanding of the relationship between thoughts, feelings, body responses and behaviour. Ciara works collaboratively with clients to challenge negative thinking patterns and behaviors which may be causing difficulties. By becoming more aware of how we think, feel and act in the present moment, we are better able to recognise and change negative thought patterns and behaviours.
By respecting each client’s values, choices and lifestyle, Ciara works towards supporting clients to make changes that feel right for them.
