Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Deirdre Savage is a qualified pre-accredited psychotherapist with a Masters in Psychotherapy and a Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy awarded by Dublin Business School. Additionally, Deirdre holds an ICHAS Certificate in Counselling Skills. Deirdre follows the Professional Code of Ethics from the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. Deirdre attends both individual and group supervision, and ongoing continued professional development programmes.
Deirdre has undertaken workshops on gender identity, eating disorders, autism, understanding addiction and childhood abuse.
Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Deirdre applies a humanistic and psychodynamic approach within her work by utilising a mixture of object relations, person-centred, existentialism, body psychotherapy and stress response approaches. Starting therapy can be scary and brave, therefore Deirdre’s aim is to create a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to come to talk and be listened to when expressing their thoughts and feelings on the small and big issues they are facing.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Deirdre has been working with clients since 2021, through long term therapy and has experience in solution focused therapy with 3rd level students.
Special interests include maternal and paternal mental health, chronic illness, and loss/change of identity.
