Jacqui’s work is informed by the work of Carl Rogers, Ivor Yalom and Viktor Frankl. Jacqui’s philosophy is inclusive, pluralistic and ethical.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Over many years, Jacqui held varied positions in the corporate sector, managing large teams of professionals. She brings a wealth of experience from these roles to her psychotherapy practice. She is mindful of the challenges we face in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, in an increasingly stressful corporate world. Her background is enhanced by her lived experiences in different cultures.
In her early career, Jacqui trained and worked as a Montessori teacher which stemmed from her interest in early childhood development, and the long-term impact of this lived experience on adult life. An interest that she still holds today, she is aware of how our early life experiences inform our adult life, and how coping strategies and defence mechanisms developed in childhood to manage at that time, can impede our present day life experiences if they have not evolved as we have matured.
Jacqui currently works as a psychotherapist with adults of all ages. She also works with young adults in University College Dublin. In addition, she worked with young adults in Trinity College Dublin, and she worked as a therapist in the Village Counselling Service in Tallaght for four years, supporting a wide range of clients.
Jacqui works with clients presenting with a range of issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, bullying, eating disorders, self-harm, sexual assault, child abuse, domestic and gender based violence. Her goal is to help individuals who wish to explore what is causing them distress, and to work with them on what they can do to improve their well-being and lives.
