Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Nicola is a psychodynamic psychotherapist. The foundations of her training are based on a Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Integrative approach. Her integrative style incorporates a variety of therapeutic models such as Gestalt and existentialist approaches. Nicola also integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational interviewing depending on the needs of each client.  She also has an interest in attachment theory and its application in the therapeutic process.

She views the therapeutic relationship as the most central piece in the therapeutic process. Nicola endeavours to develop this with each client by providing a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space, in which the client can explore and process their thoughts and experiences.  Nicola also views the therapeutic process as a unique journey giving each individual the opportunity to connect with their true authentic self.
