Counselling and Psychotherapeutic approach

Theresa is an Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. She sees the relationship between counsellor and client as key in creating a safe, trusting therapeutic space. In this space she and the client work together in partnership, exploring difficulties that the client brings to therapy and exploring ways of understanding and working with these difficulties. In this non-judgemental listening space, the client is facilitated in developing self awareness, insights, coping skills, recognising and using their own strengths and resources and building resilience. Theresa uses a variety of approaches in collaboration with the client, depending on individual needs (for example humanist, existential, psychodynamic, CBT, mindfulness).

Theresa offers both short and long term counselling; this is in consultation with the client and is based on individual needs.
