Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Tim works to empower and support clients, to explore their difficulties as deeply as possible, working towards insight, freedom, and fulfilment. He works with the conviction that the therapeutic relationship can be a profound vehicle for change when built on a foundation of mutual trust and respect.
His process is based on an integrative approach to therapy, meaning he draws from a variety of therapeutic orientations; primarily Humanistic/Existential and mindfulness-based approaches, such as ACT and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
Tim is also passionate about the transformational potential of mindfulness meditation and compassion practices. He has over a decade of experience with mindfulness meditation practice, including time on intensive silent retreats. This experience has informed his way of being with others, and how he conceives of growth, healing and human flourishing.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Tim has years of experience and training working with a range of issues. He is especially interested in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, addiction, low self-esteem, and issues around meaning and fulfilment.
